The Basic Goodness Series presents Shambhala and Buddhist teachings in an experiential way, with an emphasis on understanding the view and meaning of these teachings. This series is a powerful journey through the complete view and experience of basic goodness–our personal experience, our experience with others, and our relationship with the reality of life itself.

In this course, we will explore a number of views from the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, including interdependence, the role of mind in perception, and the teachings on emptiness and sacredness. There is an emphasis on the sacredness of the elemental, natural ecosystem.

This course is typically done as a weekly course spanning 5 to 6 weeks, therefore the weekend format will be intensive. Suggested practices and readings will be circulated two weeks prior to the class, so please register as soon as possible, but by July 13th at the latest.

There will be a break for lunch and dinner.

Recommended preparation: Completion of any one of the following programs:

  • Shambhala Training Level One
  • Contentment in Everyday Life
  • Who Am I?  The Basic Goodness of Being Human (the first course in the Basic Goodness Series)
  • How Can I Help?  The Basic Goodness of Society (the second course in the Basic Goodness Series)
