Meditation Instruction

Mind is the source of all of our experiences.  Meditation practice is a very powerful and direct way of engaging our mind. The practice we do is known as Shamatha/Vispashyana (Mindful-Awareness) which is an eyes open approach. The intent of this practice is to settle and tame the speed of mind so we can be truly present with our lives.

The Shambhala Center offers a number of ways of receiving meditation instruction from a qualified instructor.  These include:

  • Every Sunday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Center
  • Shambhala Morning every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30 am to 11:00 am
  • Mid Week Dharma every Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Classes and the Shambhala Training program.  See the schedule for these offerings. Upcoming classes and programs
  • Individual appointments can be arranged with any of the instructors listed below.
  • Ongoing relationship with a meditation instructor is also available.  This is an excellent way to deepen your meditation practice with the support of a seasoned instructor.  For example, they can be a guide for helping to select books to read, classes and programs to explore, as well as other ideas as you go forward on your path of meditation practice.
